Description
Write a report on the network security of the network at NWU Vaal.
The report should include:
1. The various threats to the university’s network, along with its possible consequences.
2. The controls that are in place against these threats.
3. The firewalls used.
4. The intrusion detection systems employed.
5. The security aspects of the e-mail system of the university.
It is important to also make recommendations throughout the report wherever needed. Each of the
5 aspects mentioned above will contribute roughly 20% to the overall mark obtained, which will be
out of 50.
Use chapter 6 of Pfleeger and chapters 6 and 7 of Whitman and Mattord as guidelines for the report.
